Association NewsLatest News (06/27/2008) Since June 1, the LRA Education Foundation has certified 172 servers in the Louisiana's BEST program and 228 servers have attended the Employee Level ServSafe training free of charge, courtesy of the contribution form Absolut Spirits Company.
(06/18/2008) Congratulations to LRA members Saul Rubio, of La Carreta's and Ema Haq of Ema's and Bailey's Restaurants, who were selected in the top 20 finalists for the National Restaurant Association's Faces of Diversity program.
(06/13/2008) The LRA is urging members to contact their distributors to find out if tomatoes served in their restaurants are from the 18 states on the safe list. Cherry tomatoes, Louisiana tomatoes and those that still have the vine attached are on the safe list according to the US Food and Drug Adminstration.

(04/08/2008)The casting crew for Bravo’s Top Chef Season 5 is coming to New Orleans, Monday, April 14 to search out chefs with a passion for food, creativity, knowledge of cooking techniques and trends, and oodles of charisma. The casting site is Bayona Restaurant, 430 Rue Dauphine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(03/28/2008) The legendary Brennan family of Commander’s Palace fame was inducted into the Culinary Institute of America's Hall of Fame last night.
The New Orleans family is one of only three families to ever win CIA's leadership award. Congratulations!
(03/23/2008) Al Copeland Sr. died in Germany today after undergoing cancer treatment. Copeland was best known for the Popeyes Fried Chicken chain started in the late 1970s.
He was inducted in to the Louisiana Restaurant Association's Hall of Fame in 1995 for his leadership and vision.
