In the early hours of New Year’s morning, a devastating incident unfolded in the heart of New Orleans. A vehicle drove through three blocks of Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, tragically claiming the lives of 10 individuals and leaving dozens more injured. What should have been a joyous celebration turned into an unimaginable tragedy, shaking our resilient community to its core.

Currently, the Bourbon Street corridor is closed and under investigation as law enforcement works tirelessly to uncover the details behind this horrific event. We stand united in offering our thoughts, prayers, and support to all the residents, visitors, and first responders impacted.

We urge the public to respect barricades and taped-off areas while authorities continue their critical work. Updates on access to the French Quarter, event restrictions, and additional information will be shared as they become available.

New Orleans is a city built on strength and togetherness. As we grieve and begin the healing process, let us lean on each other to find solace. We are grateful for the efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies working around the clock to bring clarity to this tragedy and ensure safety in our beloved French Quarter.

Today, we ask everyone to join us in sending prayers and hope for all those affected.
