Fleur du Coeur: A Culinary Tribute January 13-19, 2025
Jan 7, 2025
Metairie, LA – The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) and its Bourbon Street restaurant and bar members affected by the New Year’s Day tragedy will hold Fleur du Coeur: A Culinary Tribute, January 13-19, 2025. Participating restaurants will feature a special dish or drink on their menus, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Greater New Orleans Foundation New Year’s Day Tragedy Fund, to aid the victims and their families, and those injured or impacted by this devastating event.
“We hold the victims and their families in our hearts as we fight to bring peace and life back to our home,” said Katy Casbarian, co-proprietor of Arnaud’s Restaurant and French 75 Bar. “The resiliency of the residents of New Orleans and the strength of our community will help us all heal during this difficult time.”
The name "Fleur du Coeur" reflects the resilience and compassion of New Orleans. A blend of the fleur-de-lis, the enduring symbol of the city, and "coeur," meaning heart in French, it represents the community's boundless love and unity in times of hardship. The accompanying graphic includes hands at the foundation, illustrating those who serve, support, and, in this case, prepare meals—reflecting the vital role of hospitality in healing.
“Hospitality is the essence of our brand here in New Orleans,” said Dickie Brennan of Dickie Brennan & Co. “I’ve had the privilege of training and traveling to major cities around the world, but there’s no place quite like New Orleans. The unique blend of food, libations, music, architecture, people, culture, and creativity is unmatched. We’ve faced challenges before, and together, our story of resilience will continue to stand apart.”
Participating LRA member restaurants and bars include:
- Red Fish Grill
- Bourbon House
- Palace Cafe
- Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse
- Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar
- Galatoire’s
- Acme Oyster House
- GW Fins
- Arnaud's Restaurant and French 75 Bar
- Restaurant Revolution
- Voodoo Chicken
- 21st Amendment
- Patrick’s Bar Vin
- The Drinkery
Each special dish or drink will highlight the vibrant culinary traditions of New Orleans, offering diners a way to support recovery efforts while celebrating the spirit of the city. A follow up release later this week will outline the special dishes.
“The LRA is here to stand with our members, particularly during moments like these,” said Stan Harris, President and CEO of the Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA). “Through our work in government relations, we remain dedicated to supporting their needs and amplifying their voices. Now, as we come together for this culinary tribute, we honor the strength and spirit of our local restaurant and hospitality community, united in resilience and hope.”
